To Blog or Not to Blog
To Blog or Not to Blog… That is the question.
The answer: Yes, blog.
Adding a blog to your business website can be really worthwhile for general Search Engine Optimisation. When used right, this is one of the most important additions you can add to your website to increase your search engine rankings and increase your levels of traffic.
Also, as you create more content – if it’s good content – your trust-factor increases as people can see that you know your business, and that you provide useful value.
Maintaining a regular blog provides you with a growing library of original content, which you can later share on social media or repurpose in various ways. It could potentially inspire you eventually to collate some of your blog content into an information product, or online course, or other ideas and marketing tools…
I’ll no doubt expand on this, and also give more specific tips for blogging here in MY blog 🙂
For the search engine ranking side of things, note that it’s best to update your blog regularly (monthly is fine…weekly is better), otherwise it can have the negative effect of making your site look stale and neglected.
And make sure that you write (or hire us to write) original content. Google has algorithms in place to look for duplicate content online, so if you simply copy/paste from another source Google can give the original writer positive ranking improvements, and give you negative rankings.
